You can’t help but smile when this guy greets you at the hospital door.
I was very surprised to see a familiar face during the State of the Union address. As the President discussed additional funding for the battle against childhood cancer he introduced 10 year old Grace Eline. Grace was sitting in the gallery next to the First Lady.
A few months ago I photographed Grace at her New Jersey home for Rutgers Cancer Institute. You can see the video interview below.
Sometimes a career in photography leads you to some pretty cool places. RWJ Barnabas, a wonderful regular client, asked me to photograph Hockey Fights Cancer event during the Devils game at the Prudential Center in Newark.
During pre-game ceremonies I went out on the ice to photograph some RWJ Barnabas patients with the Devils players. A fun night for everyone.
This healthcare photo shoot featured long term patients who had made great progress at Children's Specialized Hospital. Part 1 was on colorful seamless, this photo was from part 2 which was a shallow depth of field environmental portrait. It was a lot of fun as you probably can tell from the photo.
Excellent use of negative space by the folks at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. Steve Libutti, the new director of the Institute, was a pleasure to work with. We were able to photograph at a half dozen locations around the building and allow Mr. Libutti to get back to work very quickly.
St. Peter's University Hospital produces a quarterly magazine the showcases. They are a great client because they encourage collaboration with the photographer.Here we needed to show a new sinus procedure that the hospital is providing to patients. A bunch of strobes and grids made the operating room look dramatic.
