The last flight for space shuttle Enterprise

It was twice delayed because of weather but it was worth the wait.
The space shuttle Enterprise was flown from Washington to JFK airport on it’s way to the USS Enterprise where it will be on permanent display.

It was fun to see but also kind of sad because it marks the end of an era in the space program.

Weehawken was a perfect vantage point, with views of the entire New York skyline.

The Star-Ledger also had photographers stationed at Liberty State Park, in Jersey City, at the George Washington Bridge and at JFK airport.

Kendra and Shane – Skylands Manor wedding

Skylands Manor is always a wonderful wedding venue but Kendra and Shane were lucky to also have fabulous weather and an early spring.

Skylands Manor looked like the set of movie, which was perfect since Kendra and Shane’s wedding had a Hollywood theme.

Have a safe flight back to Los Angeles and thanks for a great day.

Christina and Kevin – College of New Jersey engagement photos

Not only did we have wonderful weather for Christina and Kevin’s engagement photo shot but since it was Easter weekend the campus was nearly deserted.
Luckily Christina was a campus tour guide while she was a TCNJ student so she knew lots of beautiful spots.

Exclusive interview – Dharun Ravi and the Rutgers web cam spying case

Photographing the Dharun Ravi trial was an exercise in repetition.
Ravi walks into the courtroom, Ravi talks to his attorney, Ravi looks back toward his family seated behind me, etc….. Everyday, for nearly a month, it was the same courtroom photos.

During the long trial Star-Ledger columnist Mark DiIonno laid the ground work for a post-trial interview.
Considering the national attention the trial was receiving an interview was a long shot but Mark’s masterful work scored us an exclusive interview at Ravi’s home.

Despite sitting only a dozen feet away from Ravi during the trial this was the first time I spoke to him.
During the interview he was calm and well-spoken. He and his family were very open to any idea I had for our portrait session.
Since he did not testify during the trial this was the first time people heard directly from him.

The interest in the story is amazing, as of today the story has received over 1,700 comments online.

IPad app photo shoot of Giants fans

As the Giants prepared for the Super Bowl, I was preparing for a photo shoot with Giants fans.

The photo shoot was for a Star-Ledger Super Bowl IPad app. The hardest part of the shoot was controlling the fans’ excitement about being on the field at Met Life Stadium. As we set up the lighting gear the fans had a great time running into the end zone for pretend touchdowns.

After the photo shot the fans had a chance to see the Giants previous Super Bowl trophies. Now after their Super Bowl victory the Giants will have another trophy to show off!

Jessica and Edward – Highlawn Pavilion wedding photos

Jessica and Edward’s wedding was a tour of New Jersey’s finest.

First stop was the top-notch Short Hills Hilton where Jessica and her wedding party dressed.

Then it was off to Saints Peter and Paul Church in Hoboken for the wedding Mass.
Since we were in Hoboken and the weather was very mild for January, Jessica and Ed wanted some New York City skyline photos. Luckily we timed it just right as the sun began to set.

The wedding reception was held in a venue with an equally impressive view, the Highlawn Pavilion high atop West Orange.

Thanks Jessica and Ed we all had a wonderful day.

It’s never too early – Inside Jersey magazine photography

It’s still a few months away but it’s never to early to start thinking about Saint Patrick’s Day.
The Pipes and Drums of the Jersey Shore has begun practicing in Belmar. Some nice weather has allowed them to practice outside.
A small photo essay on the musicians appears on the Inside Jersey magazine website.

Liz & Tyler – Spring Lake engagement photos

What a beautiful day in Spring Lake for Liz and Tyler’s Jersey shore engagement photos.
We were lucky to have the sand, blue skies and the fall leaves.
As you can see Liz and Tyler were naturals in front of the camera, I can’t wait for their wedding next summer in Sea Girt and Point Pleasant.

Amber and Chris – Bear Mountain wedding photos

Bear Mountain was the perfect setting for Chris and Amber’s fall wedding. The late fall sun shining through the colorful leaves was a photographer’s delight.
The newly refurbished Bear Mountain Inn provided a wonderful background for both the ceremony and reception.

Brenda and Brian – Seward Johnson Estate wedding photos

It was a great day for the Irish.
A member of the Harvey clan married a member of the Murray clan while a member of the O’Boyle clan photographed the events.
Brian wore a kilt, a bagpiper played and by the end of the evening even Fr. Gillespie was dancing an Irish jig.
