New Jersey wedding photojournalist and editorial photographer
Adam LiVecchi was on a missionary trip to Haiti when the massive earthquake rocked the country. The room where he was sleeping was destroyed but he was uninjured. Through the kindness of a stranger he managed to get on a plane back to the United States.
One of the cool aspects of being a photojournalist for a major publication is that sometimes the newsmakers come to you. Recently Governor Christie visited the Star-Ledger offices in Newark to discuss the details of his controversial budget. It was a good opportunity to shoot some tight, candid portraits of the Governor.
Engagement photo sessions are always fun but it’s even more enjoyable when the couple are long time friends. The Jersey City waterfront is a special place for Carly and Seth so it was a perfect spot for their engagement photos. Look for their wedding day photos in a few months!
Communication is one of the most important aspects of successful portrait photography. When I’m shooting a portrait for the Star-Ledger I try to describe to the subject exactly the look I’m trying to achieve. Making them a partner in the shoot helps tremendously. So I’m driving on Route 1 north in Elizabeth and there it is. A huge billboard featuring my photo of the Star-Ledger’s political team. Very cool!
