A widow and a one month old baby

One month ago Army private first class Luigi Marciante celebrated the birth of his son. One week ago he was killed by an improvised explosive device in Iraq. Today his widow stared out the window of a limousine during his funeral. Read the story here.

Oh, my deer

Essex County announced that it will hold a deer hunt to help thin the herd at South Mountain Reservation.The county officials say the damage from the deer is endangering the habitat for other animals.A dozen or so protesters were on hand to express their displeasure with the plan.Read all about it here
