This week I watched a PBS documentary about the Newark riots. One of the causes of the riots they discussed was political corruption.
Today is the 40th anniversary of the Newark riots and also the day the federal government indicted former mayor Sharpe James on 25 counts of political corruption. James served as mayor for two decades and is currently a state senator.
Newark has come so far in 40 years but the corruption remains.
This video of Sharpe James leaving the courthouse was shot with three cameras so which ever way he turned there was a Star-Ledger video camera there.
